In accordance with the principles of organic growing, it is designed from the ground up, beginning with the critical element of soil health. The design features distinct planting zones that showcase organic potatoes and fruit grown in traditional beds. Wild zones within the garden are purposefully left untamed, with wildflowers and habitats that attract pollinators. The intimate performance space, with simple, sustainable amphitheatre seating, will host pop-up organic performances across the weekend. The garden pays homage to the spirit of Bloom Patron, President Michael D. Higgins, his support of organic food production, and his dedication to sustainability, creativity, and the arts. It is closely guarded by Macnas’ Con Mór, the ancient, eco-conscious giant from the West of Ireland, who is famed for his love of birds and nature.
