A rainforest story lies on a cosy window seat in an elegant outdoor room. Delicate, textural plants reminiscent of temperate and tropical rainforests illustrate the power of books to transport you anywhere in the world. As dusk falls, gentle lighting illuminates the scene, highlighting books, maps and translucent glass shelves. The garden celebrates the work of Doorstep Library volunteers who bring the joy of reading directly into the homes of children who need support. Timbers from a single cedar of Lebanon enclose the space, part of the practical inspiration offered by the garden on helping rainforest conservation by choosing locally grown timbers for outdoor use. In this calm green nook a child or adult can be immersed in plants and lost in books.
